Isn’t that the difference between “wrestling” and “testing.” If you wrestle with scripture you will lose and come away with a limp and be better for it (the wrestling, not the limp). Some people say you should “test” scripture: but that is arrogant as if you are in a position of authority to judge if it is acceptably true. Wrestling is more honest and humble, it is open to the option of losing, it is testing yourself against the truth of God.

I like how you say that, Michael. I think you hit the nail when you talk about the importance of a humble-hearted submission to the authority of God in his Word.
