Actually, I had a friend who was a little person (that’s really what they want to be called) who told me that “midget” was equivalent to a racial epithet as far as they were concerned.
I knew it was not first choice, but equal to a racial epithet? That’s news to me.
Don’t mean to offend, of course. I am, of course, making a joke about the headline writer’s creativity (or stupidity) as one might see it. Words, and the way they come together. Such stuff.
I hope any readers who are Little People might not take any offense. I certainly mean none.
