When I Make It Big

If I Were Ever to Become a Successful Author
Resolved
I will: Spend more time with my family
I will: Use my gifts to minister to my brothers and sisters in Christ
I will: Give generously to those in need
I will: Really take joy in my work
I will: Try to help fellow writers/artists succeed
I will: Try to help other people succeed in their vocations
I will: Work hard to do excellent work
I will: Be imaginative in communicating the life-saving Gospel of Jesus
This, of course, begs the question. Why wouldn’t I do all of those things now? Why do we so frequently look to some future reality wherein we will begin to act the way we ought to be acting right now?
Resolved
I will: Not wait for my “ship to come in” to act the way I ought to act, to be the man I want to be.
I am who I am. I am where I am. I do what I do.

Way to go, Sam. This is right on.
Too often we’re concerned with the picture frame of our life and ignore the picture.

I have read this about ten times in counseling. I read it to a gentleman tonight. Good stuff. Thanks.
