Holy Week and the Portland Studios Contest
» S.D. Smith

1. If you’re wondering why I haven’t posted about Resurrection Sunday, or Holy Week, then all I can say is that I just haven’t gotten it together to do it this year. I have been more focused on the Holiday (holy day) than, perhaps ever. But this has been centered on my own family’s celebration and my intentional activities with my kids. Much like Advent, my heart hasn’t spilled over onto the blog on this occasion. This happens a lot. In a sense, the blog is a good place to get to know me, in another sense, it very much isn’t. But it is what it is and I hope to improve it as I get more disciplined and skilled at navigating my various responsibilities/opportunities.

2. I entered a (very) short story contest that might interest some of you writers: Loren, Joshua, Lars, Alexander, Jessi, and others I can’t think of right off. It’s from Portland Studios, and was passed on to me and all of us from Jodi. Thanks, Judith. It’s a neat idea they have, and a good marketing/connecting-up tool. They made a moving picture animation and they want a short back story explaining the cause of the furious bull’s actions. I really admire the work those guys do. Justin’s blog is fascinating. Particularly as he tries to capture the images in his mind of The Hobbit before the movie usurps it. Check out the contest, and enter.

3. I love my wife.
