The Gratitude Attitude
» S.D. Smith
I want to express some gratitude out here in public. Don’t worry, this won’t be all that embarrassing.
For those of you who read here (and at The Rabbit Room) regularly. Thanks. I am encouraged by how many of you take a couple of minutes each day to stop by from all around the world.
To those who comment regularly. Thanks for making these little thoughts so much bigger and better with your considerate contributions.
Thanks to those who continue to give me feedback (of the good kind) on The Fledge Chronicles. It means a lot and encourages me to keep after it. This includes my editor who has been very positive about the stories from the get go. She is the reason that one of my dreams has come true (having some regular income from the business of writing).
Thanks to all who continue to ask me about and encourage me about my novel (including those many who have told me repeatedly to mark you down for a sale).
Thanks to the author who recently encouraged me, and gave me a lot of good advice.
And now to today…
Thanks to the publishing veteran who enthusiastically encouraged me, listened intently to me, offered great advice, and an ongoing, outstretched hand of friendship, along with a wealth of knowledge. He was a man very generous with his time, and in his offer to help. Thank you.
I could go on, but I don’t want anyone to gag.
I will say that it is on days like this that the wall separating me from the world of published authors (of books) seems riddled with cracks and much less imposing.
Also…
Thanks to my family, especially my wife, who have loved and supported me with such ferocity.
Thanks be to God, who can cause me to succeed at this, or allow me to fail, and who deserves all glory and praise forever. May I treasure him above and in all and not be so invested in my own success that it defines who I am. By God’s grace I have all that I need and am becoming who I must happily become.
